Call of Duty is Coming Out Some Day

With the annoucment of the Hardened and Prestige editions of Modern Warfare 2 a few weeks back and with all of the focus on the night-vision goggles (which kick ass, regardless) some people seem to have forgotten about the annouced Call of Duty Classic, a re-release of the original 2003 shooter.

People who buy the Hardened or Prestige editions (myself, probably) will be getting a token to download it. "But what about the sane people" shouts someone, well Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has the answer:

"Prestige and Hardened Edition buyers will be getting access to Call of Duty: Classic first. It'll eventually be coming out for both Xbox Live Arcade and PSN as a stand-alone arcade game,"

Along with this news, he dropped some small details about the game;

"However, price and release date are unknown at this point. It's the true original Call of Duty including full multiplayer."

The price of it is still up in the air but watch this space for more information. Modern Warfare 2 will be released on November 10th, just a kindly reminder.

Gearbox not working on new Halo, says Twitter

The annoucment of Halo Waypoint last week at Comic-Con meant a shift away from Bungie's side of things and into the new world of Halo marketing. With Halo moving on from Bungie, the game is to guess who is next. Gearbox where a big candidate having develpoed the original Halo for the PC.

In the run up to the release of Halo Waypoint, Microsoft has made up a Twitter page for it. The Gearbox rumour was squashed today when they posted that:

"For the record, Gearbox is NOT working on a Halo title for Microsoft".

That ends that, for now at least. But there certainly won't be a lack of Halo games soon with the releases of Halo: ODST and Halo Reach but is up in the air about the quality of the Halo Legends anime and Halo Waypoint. On a side note, Borderlands in shops this October.

Dark Void fired into 2010

Airtight Games's Dark Void, which has had a number of pushes since its reveal in early 2008, has been pushed into Q1 2010 from its September release date. Reasons for the delay have been cited by the Capcom's Chris Kramer who said, "the crowded fall game season".

The usual slide of games from one year to the next is hotting up, games like Bioshock 2 have been pushed into '10. Things are looking up for early next year as they did in early 2009 but Q4 2009 is still looking full to the brim with the usual slew of Holiday game release. Money will be spent.

Social Networks On 360 Planned For Autumn

At E3, Microsoft annouced that the big social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter, were coming to the Xbox 360 in their continued expansion of the NXE Dashboard. A new dashboard update is planned for August 11 but they are not being rolled out with it,

Microsoft's James Halton, speaking with Eurogamer, revealed that the big features should be rolled out by Autumn. While an exact time frame was not released he did say that "it will be before Christmas". Be looking out for it then in the late-October/November region

A blog is born..

Blogs, sure why not? I thought I will give this stuff a go and make a video game blog, original I know. So mark your calenders as it begins today for all the people reading this, (just me then, actually), as today is when Cocaine Moutain was discovered. Expect slighty out of date reviews for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC. Video game news will be relevant and hot off the presses. Remember this is an Irish video game website, making it 110% better.
